The SkillGRID workforce development platform is a browser-based application developed to manage workforce training and competency needs.. Once registered, users progress through their own unique training and competency program that is in accordance with their individual requirements. A powerful rules engine (patent pending) provides the ability to apply training requirements in coordination with company or customer requirements.

Learning and Development

SkillGRID10 supports both instructor-led and computer-based training. With its fully SCORM compliant deployment module, third party content can be distributed across the enterprise organization. For advanced courses that require in-person instruction, SkillGRID can manage class registration, instructor selection, and facility/location for companies and even entire training centers.

Competency Management

Competency is the ability of an employee to perform a job properly – combining knowledge, skills and abilities KSAs along with training and experience. The SkillGRID CMS is a powerful tool for managing and confirming the proficiency of your workforce. With built-in modes for candidate, assessor and verifier, this easy-to-use platform can be configured for the unique attributes of your workforce.

Training Management

SkillGRID10® provides your company with compliance verification through its training matrix database. Spreadsheet training matrices can be imported into SkillGRID10 and used to create unique learning and competency plans for each individual within the enterprise. Credential expiration and validity is managed at the individual level through reminders and email alerts and at the enterprise level by real-time organizational matrices that are updated with the latest learning and competency assessment completions.

Signature Deployment

Transocean is a leading international provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells. The company specializes in technically demanding sectors of the global drilling business with a particular focus on ultra-deepwater and harsh environment drilling services and operates one of the most versatile offshore drilling fleets in the world.

Transocean requires highly skilled personnel to operate its drilling units and has used SkillGRID for its in-house learning management for over 15 years and recently upgraded its entire drilling fleet to SkillGRID10®. Transocean employees are able to access all of their eLearning content both from home and offshore using our proprietary network architecture for data replication in harsh bandwidth environments.

All employee eLearning completions on the rigs are transmitted to a centralized SkillGRID10® cloud server in order to maintain situational awareness on its employees and contract labor providers, providing up-to-the-minute accurate training and competency status for the entire Transocean fleet.

Operation and Synchronization in Harsh Bandwidth Environments

eLearning and computer-based training requires bandwidth that may not be available on a facility located in ultra-deep water or even in shallow shelf locations. For this reason, the SkillGRID platform was designed to operate where internet connectivity is slow or intermittent. Using a localized server in tandem with even limited onshore connectivity, SkillGRID allows employees to access their training seamlessly from home and while deployed offshore.

Our platform is also capable of records merging from all rigs. Where active synchronization is required, SkillGRID’s proprietary replication and monitoring package can show report status and last replication by rig in order to notify administrators of data conflicts or other issues. This provides the best possible daily situational awareness across the fleet with insights into personnel competency, learning, training metrics, updated training matrices, and safety reports.

Using this remote server synchronization technology, SkillGRID recently became the world’s first learning management system to enable offshore IADC® RigPass and introductory WellSharp training.
